Her great-grandfather courageously fought in the Spanish American War and WWI, earning a Purple Heart for his bravery at Vesle, France. Her grandfather served valiantly in WWII, playing a role in liberating several concentration camps. This proud tradition of service extends to several of her uncles, who also served our nation in combat.
From a young age, Lisa was inspired to follow in their footsteps. In January 1988, during her senior year of high school, she made that dream a reality by enlisting in the Army Reserves. She served with the 402nd MP Camp, 3rd Enclosure, and at the age of 20, she was called to active duty for Operation Desert Storm.
Upon returning home from Desert Storm, Lisa faced the challenge of reintegration with limited resources or guidance. This experience underscored the need for better support systems for veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
It was an honor for Lisa to be invited to join the board, a role that eventually led to her position as President of the Board of Directors.
